“When It’s Best To Hold Off on Buying The Latest Gadget” [August 17, 2012]
What a relief. According to this article the pressure is off to have to have the latest and greatest gadget. Whew. Lord knows we could go crazy buying all the new technology that comes out almost daily. What has always helped me is to ask myself–about any new software or hardware–will this piece of equipment help me reach my goals? If the answer is yes, I also wonder aloud if the purchase will pay off in terms of profits or productivity. Most times the answer is a resounding no. The article makes the point that the 2.0 version is often not that much better than its predecessor, so don’t swipe your credit card unless you know you will “need” it versus just “want” it.
